Cian Ducrot is one of the most important talents coming out of Ireland. With an intimacy and honesty to his music that sits him alongside the likes of FINNEAS or Jeremy Zucker, Cian is a force to be reckoned with. And having recently signed with Darkroom/Interscope – the label that discovered Billie Eilish – he’s on the trajectory to becoming a household name.

Hailing from Cork, Ireland, Cian was raised solo by his classical musician mother who fostered his interest in drama and performance – an outlet Cian reflects as a means of escapism. He was accepted on a scholarship into London’s Royal Academy of Music, one of the most prestigious art schools in the world, as a classical flautist while he taught himself to produce.

It was a trip to Los Angeles that compelled him to drop out of the course to pursue his pop career full-time, sleeping on friends’ couches with only £500 to his name. The hustle paid off with a dedicated online audience and record labels knocking down his door after the release of his 2020 mixtape started in college.

We discuss how his life has changed in the past 18 months, his burning ambition, self-reflection and his recent single with Canadian talent Cate, “Know Me Again”.

“Know Me Again” ft. Cate is OUT NOW.
