Interview: SAYAH
SAYAH has returned after a two-year hiatus with her latest single, “Fruit” – a collaboration with Sydney producer Taka Perry about a toxic ‘situationship’ she found herself in a few years back.
The track is a pop bop that plays on the duality of wanting someone and getting them out of her life. Taka brings an earworm production of riffy guitar and driving 808s that’ll be hooked in your mind for the rest of the day.
Over her break, SAYAH’s been busy collaborating on other artists’ projects, including Cosmos Midnight with who she regularly tours alongside as a feature vocalist. She’ll be hitting the road with them as they embark on a nationwide tour for Fresh Produce Festival in the second half of the year, for your chance to catch her live.
We caught up with SAYAH to find out what happens on the road, her experience at Yours & Owls Festival and the story behind “Fruit”.
